Dost Joins Barclays AI:100 as the Only AP and AR Automation Company in the Ranking

5/19/26

We have some news worth sharing.

Dost has been selected for the inaugural Barclays "Ones to Watch" AI:100 report, published by Barclays' Eagle Labs division. The ranking identifies 100 of the highest-growth AI businesses in Britain at a moment when the country's AI sector attracted £8.3bn in investment in 2025 alone.

We are the only accounts payable and accounts receivable automation company in the ranking.

What the AI:100 Is and Why It Matters

The AI:100 is not a list of AI companies that talk a good game. It is a shortlist of businesses already shaping the commercial AI landscape in Britain, assembled by Barclays alongside ecosystem partners including Google Cloud, EY, Wilson Sonsini and Cooper Parry.

The report launched at Google's London headquarters and sits alongside the Barclays Scaleup Consortium, a coordinated effort to back AI-led businesses at scale. It has already drawn attention from investors and policymakers as a reference point for where meaningful AI adoption is actually happening.

Dost joins companies including Fractile, Isomorphic Labs, Wayve, ElevenLabs, ZOE and Multiverse. The selection comes in the same month the UK Government announced a £500m Sovereign AI Unit, placing the AI:100 within a broader national push to establish Britain as a leading destination for AI-led businesses.

What We Have Built and What It Delivers

Dost was founded in Barcelona in 2021. Since then, we have processed over five million accounting transactions for finance teams across ten countries. The results our customers report are consistent:

  • 95% accuracy in data extraction from day one, with no templates and no manual configuration
  • 80% reduction in processing costs
  • 90% time saved on manual processes

What makes Dost different from traditional OCR-based tools is how we read financial documents. Our AI works at line-item level, handles any document format, and is accurate from the very first document it sees. There is no training period and no setup overhead.

The platform covers the full financial cycle: document capture and data extraction, 3-way matching, approval workflows, payments and bank reconciliation. It integrates natively with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage 200, Sage Intacct, Sage X3 and Oracle from day one.

Why the UK Matters to Us

We opened our London office in October 2025. The decision was deliberate.

British finance teams are, by most measures, among the most forward-thinking in Europe. But the operational problem they face is significant. Late payments are closing 38 businesses a day in the UK. That is not an abstract statistic. It is the consequence of finance processes that were not built to handle the volume and complexity that modern businesses operate at.

Adam Barbera, Co-founder and CEO at Dost, puts it directly:

"I spent many years in enterprise sales talking to finance teams across Europe who were smart, capable, and completely buried in manual work. They had tools, but those tools weren't built for how finance actually works. When I moved to London I realised the UK has this problem worse than most. Late payments are closing 38 businesses a day here. That's a crazy statistic for one of the world's biggest economies. Being picked for the AI:100 tells me what we're doing can have a real impact in this country. Finance teams should be hired to think, not to type, and that's the future we're building."

We recently closed our Series A to deepen our presence in the UK market. The AI:100 selection is a signal that what we are building is the right thing, at the right moment.

What This Means for Finance Teams

Being the only accounts payable and accounts receivable automation company in a ranking of Britain's most significant AI businesses is a validation of a specific belief we have held from the beginning: that finance automation is not a back-office problem, it is a strategic one.

The finance teams that are winning right now are not the ones with the most headcount in AP. They are the ones that have given their people the capacity to do the work that actually matters, because the operational layer runs itself.

That is what we are building. And we are just getting started.
